Abstract/Contents:"This paper analyses the major European golf markets in terms of number of courses and golfers. It compares recent growth trends throughout Europe and compares the typical profile of golfers in the major markets. A theoretical 'mature market' in terms of the number of courses is suggested to identify which countries have the biggest need for new courses. The paper also calls for detailed catchment research before building new courses and shows how geodemographic analysis can be used to compare catchments."
