| Abstract/Contents: | The use of iron in a bentgrass management program has been shown to improve winter desiccation resistance, color and root growth as well as decreasing the incidence of dollar spot and leafspot. Earlier spring green is also evident. Recommended rates on bentgrass greens is 3 or 4 applications of 2 oz./1000 square feet of iron sulfate or iron chelate during fall and winter. Three to four applications at the same rates are recommended during summer. In Virginia, avoid iron usage from March to June. |
