| Abstract/Contents: | Gives a description of soil characteristics with suggestions on how to improve soil characteristics. "A knowledge of the physical characteristics and functions of the soil is necessary before considerations can be made on how to improve soil characteristics with soil modification. All soils consist of three distinct phases: solid, liquid and gas." Further discusses the three phases of soil. Explains that if you understand soils and soil modification, you can be a more effective turf manager. |
