Abstract/Contents:"Pinoxaden has demonstrated versatility for multiple uses in the low desert of Arizona as a tool to assist in spring transition and for controlling a relatively new grass weed. Pinoxaden herbicide exhibited efficacy for removing overseeded perennial ryegrass during spring transition of bermudagrass turf. In 2018, high rates of 0.031 - 0.067 kg a.i./ha rapidly removed the ryegrass. In 2019, low rates of 0.009 - 0.031 kg a.i./ha effectively removed ryegrass. In comparison to penoxulam, pinoxaden at 0.009 kg a.i./ha was more active and the speed of removal was more rapid. For liverseedgrass (Urochloa panicoides), sequential applications of pinoxaden at 0.067 kg a.i./ha exhibited weed control efficacy immediately after applications, but the timing of treating the maturing weed was too late for season long control. In the spring of 2019 on less mature liverseedgrass, a single application of pinoxaden at 0.28 kg a.i./ha was effective in providing very good control."
