Abstract/Contents:"A 4.3-kilobase mitochondrial DNA fragment was cloned from Gaeumannomyces graminis var. tritici, the causative agent of take-all disease of wheat. Although this DNA fragment hybridized with all three varieties of G. graminis, it showed little homology with DNA from other fungi and thus should be useful for identification of Gaeumannomyces sp. recovered from infected plants."
