| Abstract/Contents: | When irrigating turf it is important to know when and how much to irrigate, this will be determined by: soil type, rooting depth, type of grass and use of turf. For each 2.31 feet that water is lifted vertically, one lb/square inch (psi) of pressure is required. Factors to be considered when designing an irrigation system are: water supply, soil type, type of turf, topography, size and shape of the area, labor available, time available to irrigate, and financial resources. |
