Abstract/Contents:"Tahoma 31 turf bermudagrass (OKC 1131 or OSUB11-31), an interspecific F1 hybrid (Cynodon dactylon x C. transvaalensis) was released by the Oklahoma Agricultural Experiment Station in 2017. The grass was created in 2007 and tested in multiple environments (locations by years), especially in the 2013 NTEP National Bermudagrass Test. The grass has substantial improvements in cold hardiness, early spring green up, drought resistance, and traffic tolerance. It has short internodes offering tolerance to low mowing heights. This grass combines high turf quality and wide adaptation. Since it is sterile Tahoma 31 is only capable of being propagated by vegetative reproduction (i.e., sod, sprigs, and plugs). It is sold only as a certified turf bermudagrass from licensed producers. It can be used where high quality turf is demanded and good management will be practiced on sites that include sports fields, golf courses, commercial properties and high quality residential lawns."
