Abstract/Contents: | "It is usually difficult or even impossible to get an accurate, comprehensive picture of all of the pesticides used in an urban or suburban area. In 1993, The Evergreen State College (Olympia, Washington) published the results of a project that attempted to compile pesticide use information for an entire county. Their results are remarkable, both because of the specific information gained in the study and because the study clearly demonstrates how much pesticide use goes unnoticed and unrecorded. Complete, publicly-available pesticide use information is crucial as we work towards reducing our dependence on chemical pesticides." |
