Abstract/Contents:"Synthetic organic pesticides have become a major component of agricultural, forestry, and turfgrass management systems. Environmental and human health problems associated with pesticides have been documented. Public awareness and concern for environmental protection and human safety has led to the search for naturally occurring compounds that are able to inhibit growth and development of weed plants." It has been disclosed that corn gluten meal can be used as a natural preemergence herbicide, but it is hard to apply it as a herbicide due to its insolubility in water.
