| Abstract/Contents: | Discussion of moisture in the soil, in the plant, and in the air is a concern for the limited moisture conservation for 1977. Soil sensing is a tool for achieving maximum water conservation. Soil moisture in the soil can be sensed and recorded also by the feel of the soil, probing of the soil, suction created, and the electrical conductivity. For turf areas having a clock controlled irrigation system, it is practical to use a soil sensing controller. This could be used for controlling all greens, fairways and tees. |
