| Abstract/Contents: | Discusses monitoring spray operators for over exposure to organophospates. Since the inhibitory effects of organophosphates are cumulative, constant contact will lead to a progressive decline of the blood enzyme activity which may or may not be accompanied by clinical symptoms. However, the long range effects of this low level organophosphate exposure on the body are still unknown. The enzyme that interfers within the blood is called cholinesterase. Two programs are discussed to monitor cholinesterase levels in the blood. Outlines for drawing and shipping test samples are provided. |
