| Abstract/Contents: | Outlines: A recommended list of maintenance that should be performed on a golf course irrigation system before its spring start up in order to avoid the unexpected, costly damage that the system might inflict due to damage rendered to it during the past winter. Such measures include an investigation of all the major valves and pumps, the aerator vents(so that a pressure explosion does not occur when the system is started), checking and replacing the batteries of the system, checking the necessary cables, decoders and other essential electrical equipment, and testing the magnet vents, seeing that the proper current is going. Carefully document all diagnostic checks; perform a dry run if possible. These and a few subsequent measures stated should insure no undesireable suprises at such a critical time as the early spring. |
