Abstract/Contents: | Soiling has been used on bowling greens for the following reasons: to increase cotula vigor, to level the surface, to decrease thatch, and to relieve compaction. Strategies that are necessary to decrease the diminishing soil supplies are: decreasing the soil coverage on the green, soil leveling can be used to recycle excess topsoil, the integration of topsoil will reduce thatch, and the Hydroject and Verti-Drain loosens the existing soil without the replacement of it. |
