Abstract/Contents: | "Ground covers are used increasingly to add interest in the landscape. They can be described as a diverse group of low-growing annuals, perennials, shrubs and evergreens. Ground covers are not only decorative, they also serve as great problem-solvers for the managers of greenspace. They can be used on steep banks to prevent soil erosion or in shaded locations where turf may not grow well." Topics include: parking lot islands, great for wildlife, types of ground covers, getting started, and sun and shade. |
