| Abstract/Contents: | "Severe drought in the western U.S. has triggered water use restrictions on all turfgrass areas. The objective of this study was to evaluate 11 products or combinations thereof to conserve water on hybrid bermudagrass 'Tifway II' turf maintained as a golf course fairway or athletic field. Treatments were replicated four times using a linear gradient irrigation system configuration that allowed for evaluation of turf responses ranging from 100% to 0% replacement of reference evapotranspiration (Eto). Treatments were applied at bi-weekly to monthly intervals prior to introduction of gradient irrigation. In addition to subjective ratings, DIA, NDVI, and soil VMC were recorded during the study." |
