Abstract/Contents: | "There is a view among some racetrack managers that the management of racetracks is divorced from the principles of turf management and related soley to agricultural principles and the requirements of race horses. This view ignores the wealth of turf research information available and usually fails when tested under conditions of heavy wear, bad weather and poor drainage. The best track management combines turf management principles with race horse requirements and avoids similarities with agricultural pasture production." |
