Abstract/Contents:Author discusses his trends in golf course design as getting away from intensive maintenance of large areas of his courses. Greens average 4500 to 7000 square feet, tees average 4000 to 7000 square feet, and fairways average 40 yards wide. Forty to fifty larger sand bunkers along with grass mounds are often in his designs. Minimal irrigation of fairways and roughs help keep his maintenance requirements low as well.
