| Abstract/Contents: | Discusses techniques used to reestablish quality turfgrass on athletic playing fields. Major and minor renovation are covered in this article. Major renovation would kill all the grass and could possibly involve regrading and installation of drainage and irrigation systems. Minor renovation would maintain some of the existing turf and use coring, horizontal tillers, and overseeding to produce a quality turf. Topdressing and conntrol of Poa annua are important elements in the renovation process also. |
