| Abstract/Contents: | Reports results of potassium fertilization (in potassium sulfate, K2SO4, and potassium chloride plus sulfur, KCl+S) on Poa annua turfgrass stands in Washington in 1982-83. Potassium chloride plus sulfur applied at 20 and 40 lbs K2O per 1000 ft2 caused severe phytotoxicity after 90 days resulting in loss of annual bluegrass cover on putting green turf. Even potassium sulfate applied at high single rates showed a wide margin of safety from both short and long-term turf injury. |
