Abstract/Contents: | "The urban form of the City of Calgary has been strongly influenced by the valleys of the Bow and Elbow Rivers. In particular, the Bow River adjacent to the downtown has created an ideal edge to the city of Calgary. The Barclay Mall connects Calgary's hard edged urban core with the green belt of the Bow River. Barclay is a pedestrian and vehicle mall which acts as the city's official promenade to the waterfront development centered on the Barclay Plaza adjacent to the river's edge." Discusses waterfront development and design perspectives and also credits those individuals who worked on the project. |
