Abstract/Contents:Discusses the benefits of the newly developed soft spikes for golf shoes. "Spike marks became non-existent, thus improving conditions of greens, even in areas of heavy traffic, and there was far less negative impact on turf in the areas of compaction, damage, and recovery." Some golf courses around the country have made these "soft spikes" mandatory. These clubs have "also seen less damage in areas such as clubhouse carpeting and golf cart flooring."
