Abstract/Contents: | "Even while keeping turf surfaces safe, playable, and aesthetically-pleasing through the hectic playing schedules of spring and summer athletics, sports turf managers are thinking of things to come--the kickoff of fall sports. Preparation for all activities begins before the first athlete of spring steps onto the turf, and it continues throughout the year until winter weather shuts down play. Then the planning stages for the next year begin. Each step in turf care becomes a part of the total turf-management program." These steps are: fertility, aeration, and choosing a specific variety of grass. |
