Abstract/Contents: | "When trees fail in an urban setting, the potential for personal injury and property damage is high, leaving the owner liable for damage. Greenspace managers have a responsibility for maintaining a safe environment and to manage their trees in such a way as to minimize failure. By preventing and/or eliminating dangerous situations, hazard tree management results in a safer environment. Correcting structural defects often enhances tree longevity." Discusses different factors to take into account when evaluating trees, including; crown form, branch attachment, stem defects, and also crown and root inspection. |
