Abstract/Contents:"Considerable variability exists among the St. Augustinegrass cultivars and experimental varieties in the NTEP test. The performance of most varieties is marginal to poor in Dallas, Texas, where temperature and moisture extremes are experienced annually. Experimental lines DALSA8401, FX-332, MSA-2, and S71-2090 were comparable in performance to Raleigh, all earning a Phenotypic Stability (PS) rating of 8. Mercedes, FX-33, and MSA-20 were intermediate in performance (PS 4-6). Seville, Floratam, Jade, Sunclipse, and Delmar were relatively poor (PS 0-2) in their performance this first year. Additional testing is essential before any definitive conclusions can be drawn."
