USGA Summary Points:Measurements taken with TDR 350 show a significant and strong correlation with volumetric soil moisture (θV) determined by loss of weight. Generally, both satellite and turfRad underestimate soil moisture when compared to TDR 350 Moisture readings determined by Sentinel-1A satellite or turfRad showed either no or only a weak relationship with the PS 6000 or the TDR 350. Based on data collected in this study, none of the tested technologies can currently be used for irrigation scheduling to conserve water as they all lack the necessary accuracy.
