Abstract/Contents: | "Many query the practical benefits of recording basic weather measurements. So to start-let us look briefly at how the weather influences turfgrass management in Britain, bearing in mind that most topsoils are high in silt and clay and much of the land is low lying. Without a record of weather conditions, treatment comparisons are useless." The weather conditions to be measured include: rainfall, temperature, relative humidity, the atmospheric pressure, and wind speed and direction. Also discusses methods of measurement. |
