Abstract/Contents:"Twenty-eight experimental and commercially available bentgrass cultivars were seeded at 0.75#/M on May 22, 1994 on the experimental greens. The grow-in nitrogen applications were made on an as needed basis to maintain vigorous growth and adequate aesthetic quality. Irrigation was supplied to maintain adequate moisture in the profile. The greens are verticut and topdressed with an 80% sand-20% peat mix at least monthly. Currently, no core cultivation is conducted. Fungicides are applied on curative basis only. Percent cover ratings are taken visually based on amount of area covered by the turf. Quality ratings were then recorded monthly for the remainder of the growing season on a scale of 1 to 9."
