Abstract/Contents: | "In the UK, amenity turfgrass in used for sport, leisure, and recreational acticities. The demands for improvement in standards, particularly for sports turf in both visual and playing qualities, is increasing. The current uses and sizes of amenity turf areas is given, together with a brief account of the principle UK pests and diseases. Current practices for pest and disease control, which include cultural, biological and pesticides, are described. Future trends in pesticide development in respect of operator, public and environmental safety and efficacy are also described in the context of an integrated pest and management approach." |
