Abstract/Contents:"An experiment was conducted in 1993 to evaluate three dry formulations of three-way mixtures of hormone herbicides. All dry products were acids of 2,4-D + MCCP, or MCCP + MPPA, in combination with dicamba. All treatments were compared to the same herbicides as dimethylamine salts packaged as liquids. Mixtures of dry formulations were as follows: 2,4-D + MCPP + dicamba (0.8 + 0.4 + 0.09, or 0.42 + 0.8 + 0.08 lb ae/A), and MCPA + MCPP + dicamba (0.9 + 0.5 + 0.1 lb ae/A). Liquid formulations included 2,4-D + MCPP + dicamba (1.1 + 0.5 + 0.1 lb/A). The experiment was conducted on a natural infestation of Virginia buttonweed (Diodia virginiana L.) located near Canton, MS. The dry formulation of 2,4-D + MCPP + dicamba (0.42 + 0.8 + 0.08 lb/A) provided Virginia buttonweed control equivalent to the comparable liquid formulation of 2,4-D + MCPP + dicamba (0.5 + 0.9 + 0.1 lb/A) through 7 weeks after treatment (WAT), while the dry formulation of 2,4-D + MCPP + dicamba applied at 0.8 + 0.4 + 0.09 lb/A was equivalent to the liquid formulation through 5 WAT. The dry mixture of MCPA + MCPP + dicamba controlled equivalent to the liquid formulation of these three herbicides from 4 through 7 WAT. However, control with either formulatiuon was <=74%."
