| Abstract/Contents: | "For years, the productivity of Poa supina has been a well-known and recognized fact by the experts concerned. The special characteristics are an interesting element for use on the playing grounds of a golf course. Some sites are presented, on which the regular species failed, whereas Poa supina resulted in much better playing conditions. Before using poa supina, however, an exact analysis of the site is required." The sites are as follows: Baden-Baden, Kematen-Laudachtal, Zell am See, and St. Anton. Poa supina has, in particular, demonstrated its ability to grow dense root systems and maintain a rich green in heavily shaded areas of the golf course. It has also proved to be more disease resistant in some sites (Zell am See, Baden-Baden, St. Anton), therefore needing lesser amounts of fungicides. |
