Abstract/Contents:Discusses the use of Nematode products as cutworm control. Nematode products, such as the product BioSafe, suppress cutworm populations in turf if applied early in the insect's life cycle. Such a product will not leave a slew of dead cutworms in its wake but should be applied at the earliest stage of the cutworm life cycle. The Nematode products are environmentally friendly as they are low in toxicity. Also included are results of a recent study on insecticides which shows only a fraction of insecticides move downward from grass to soil after application to normal turf. The article also includes a short close-up on the disease Tetanus, its origin, effects, and what one can do to prevent from acquiring the disease.
