Abstract/Contents: | A profile of Settindown Golf Club, which was born out of the frustration of several players with the "hit-and-wait" approach to club management. A group of players from the Atlanta area decided to build their own course purely for the enjoyment of the game. The club has no tennis courts, swimming pools, or ballrooms, and only has a membership of 318. Designed by Bob Cupp, the course features short, fast greens and tall, ungroomed roughs. The club uses reclaimed water instead of wells, and has constructed a 25 million gallon reservoir for storing water during the winter. |
