Abstract/Contents:Soil reaction (pH) is important because nutrient availability or nutrient deficiencies occur or are caused by the effects of low or high soil pH levels. The loss of availability is the result of soil reactions which precipitate plant nutrients or render these nutrients insoluble in the soil. Before planting a site or developing a fertilizer program, soil pH information is useful and important. Includes data on nutrient availability, soil pH range for common grasses, and limestone application rates.
