| Abstract/Contents: | "Fungicide treatments were evaluated on an experimental bentgrass green at the Turf Field Center, NCSU, Raleigh, NC. The plots received conventional golf course management and were maintained at a 0.25 in height. Air temperature on days of application averaged 84 F and soil temperature averaged 81 F. The test period was warm and fairly dry. Treatments were arranged in a randomized complete block design with four replications of plots by 5 ft by 5 ft. All treatments were applied with a 12 volt diaphragm pump sprayer at 40 psi using 8004 VP flat-fan Teejet nozzles at a rate of 2.5 gal water/1000 ft2. Treatments were initiated on 4 Jun and repeated on corresponding 14 or 28 day intervals. Turf color, overall turf quality, and %brown patch were rated periodically. Conditions for disease development were low due to reduced rainfall. All treatments provided excellent control of brown patch. Plots treated with Lynx 25DF at 1 oz and Fluazinam at 2 fl oz had the highest overall turf quality. Growth regulating effects(dark green color and coarse texture) were observed in plots treated with EXP10452 50WG, EXP10064 1.67SC, EXP10307 0.84SC, Banner 3.6GL and Sentinel 40 WG. Plots treated with CGA173506 50WP at 0.25 oz had more dollar spot than other treatments." |
