Abstract/Contents: | Report on the feasibility of creating waterways on golf courses that offer a boon for both the player and the surrounding ecology. Gives general information about still and flowing waters, comparing and contrasting the temperature, water chemism, the topographical relief, as well as the influences of light upon them. The ecological impact of both natural and man made waters is stressed, especially the negative side effects of a poorly planned man made water body. Lists various classifications of water hazards and summarizes information pertinent to their construction and maintenance. |
