| Abstract/Contents: | Discusses the growing number of Florida golf courses associated with the New York Audubon Society's Cooperative Sanctuary Program. Features the Treasure Coast Golf Course Superintendents Association, a group of about 120 who are responsible for the conditioning and maintenance of most of the courses between Vero Beach and Hobe Sound on Florida's Atlantic coast. Details their efforts in sound environmental practices as well as education. The group has begun working with elementary school students, inviting them to the courses and showing what steps have been taken to improve and maintain a healthy environment. |
