Abstract/Contents: | Discusses the USGA's newest environmental program, Wildlife Links, which is undertaking the first comprehensive investigation of golf's relationship with surrounding wildlife. The program has an expert advisory panel including members from various federal and state agencies, nongovernmental conservation organizations, universities, and the USGA. The program wishes to realize the potential of golf courses as hospitable areas for many species of animals and plants. Among priority issues are the determination of how courses can be maintained as biologically productive sites for wildlife and the education of golfers and the public about the program's goals. |
