Abstract/Contents: | "The Maine Department of Transportation (MDOT) has been a leader in exploring roadside uses for recycled organic materials. The agency has conducted pilot projects utilizing compost and mulch for erosion control, filtration, landscaping and agronomic purposes. Some of the projects have used thousands of cubic yards of material, but the potential is much larger." |
