Abstract/Contents: | Describes how Steve Rouse, the head groundsman at Edgbaston and his staff prepared for an international one-day match by solving the problem of cricket soil, on which there was just no growth. Details the techniques they applied, including taking an inch off the cricket in order to get rid of fungus, reseeding the pitch, and reducing the higher pH level of the soil. "So far, there are no signs of the fungus reemerging." |
