"Should we blend some of these to take advantage of their strengths and offset their weaknesses. The following should be considered when blending varieties for putting greens: 1. Are they similar in color? 2. Do they have similar growth rates? 3. Do their disease resistance capabilities compliment one another? The best way to make a selection is to establish them in your own trials and determine the maintenance program that best suits your needs." |
