| Abstract/Contents: | "A laboratory accreditation program has been recently developed by the Soil and Plant Analysis Council for implementation in 1994." Describes and outlines the proposed accreditation program for soil and plant analysis laboratories, including the development of the accreditation document and the program's goals, mission, and approach. The document outlines the following: introduction, criteria and requirements, proficiency testing, qualifications and training of assessors, procedures for on-site assignments, decision to accredit or not, and renewals and appeals. Other subjects discussed are: a definition of accreditation, why laboratories become accredited, laboratory organization and management, "quality system" requirements, personnel qualifications, testing methods, facilities and diagnostic equipment, records, traceability, sample handling, test results, sub-contracting, complaints, and biennial reviews and renewals. |
