Abstract/Contents: | "U.S. Department of the Interior's 'Safe Harbor' habitat conservation plan helps endangered species find refuge on private lands. Safe Harbor, officially known as the North Carolina Sandhills Habitat Conservation Plan, represents a novel approach toward habitat and wildlife conservation." Discusses how the Safe Harbor Plan makes the red-cockaded woodpecker (RCW) thrive in Pinehurst's golf course environment, and how golf courses can provide one of the best habitats for many types of wildlife by participating in this program. |
