Abstract/Contents:The objective of this study was to determine the speed and persistence of burndown for HOE39866 at 2 rates, as compared to Roundup. Both chemicals are applied on June 12, 1992 and evaluated on June 23, July 7, 21, August 21, and September 15, 1992. Evaluation were made based on percentage of burndown. "Initial burndown for HOE 38866 was excellent two weeks after applicaiton with both rates. Round-yp was a lot slower in burndown, but by early July all treatments were 85% or better in burndown. Round-up surpassed HOE39866 in total burndown and kill. HOE39866 began to drop off in control by the end of July at the low rate. The high rate of HOE39866 started its green-up the first part of August. Round-up began greening up the first part of September. HOE39866 appeared to work more like a contact herbicide rather than a systemic."
