| Abstract/Contents: | The objective of this study is to evaluate the effects of herbicides for control of crabgrass in tall fescue. Pesticides were applied in variant rates and timing from April 22, 1992 through September 8, 1992. "No phyto was observed with any treatment early in the season. Color was consistent except where fertilizer/herbicides were applied. Most treatments worked very well in controlling crabgrass. Ronstar was the most consistent. With the exception of dacthal, MSMA and BAS514 (3-5 tiller), all other treatments gave 88 to 100% control of crabgrass at mid-season. At mid-season, BAS514 was showing a light amount of brown coloring that disappeared in about 14 days. Most treatments were still holding in control of crabgrass by early September. Dacthal, Acclaim, MSMA, BAS514, and D-free trimec + dropped off 10 to 20% in control of crabgrass. |
