Abstract/Contents: | MON 12051 was evaluated against Basagran for postemergence control of yellow nutsedge. Four rates of MON 12051 were applied on August 6, 1992. Basagran at 1.5 LBai/A was applied at the same time and reapplied 10 days later. All applications were made when nutedge was in the 3-5 leaf stage. "All treatments were significantly better than the control. MON 12051 had excellent control of yellow nutsedge with a rate response as rates increased. Control ranged from 82 to 97% for control of nutsedge with Mon 12051. After the second application of Basagran, control of nutsedge was 100%. One application of MON 12051 at 0.125 LBS AI/A rate of MON 12051 was very close to being equal to Basagran. MON 12051 has a slower burndown than Basagran, however, the kill is just as effective as Basagran." |
