Abstract/Contents:Perennial ryegrass, Kentucky bluegrass, tall fescue, annual bluegrass and bentgrass were slit seeded on September 16, 1992. Plots were evaluated based upon percent cover. Dimension was applied prior to planting followed by evaluations. "2 month interval: All species had a response to rates of dimension. As rates increased, percentage cover decreased. Per. ryegrass was the first specie to germinate and looked the best. All other species are slower to germinate, but the affects[effects] of dimension are obvious when treatments are compared to the control. Bluegrass, poa, and bentgrass were falling below 10% cover for most plots. Fescue fell between 10 and 40 percent. Bluegrass, fescue, poa and bentgrass were significantly less than the control for all treatments except the E. C. at 0.50 AI/A. 3 month interval: All treatments had a rate response again, but was not as obvious. Ryegrass improved with cover in the 70 to 80s. Bluegrass and fescue remained about the same (10 to 20% cover). Poa improved for the E.C. formulation, it was not significantly less than the control. 4 month interval: Ryegrass continues to improve with cover in the 90 percentile. Bluegrass was still significantly less than the control for all treatments. Fescue remained in the teens, with MON25134 at 0.75 being the only treatment significantly less than the control. Poa and bentgrass were still poor. 5 month interval: Ryegrass looked the very best here (upper 90s). Bluegrass remained the same. Fescue improved to the 20s with no differences. Poa improved to the 30s. Bentgrass remained the same for most treatments."
