Abstract/Contents: | Discusses the care of evergreen plants during the winter months. Keeping the plants watered is as essential in the winter as it is during the hot summer months because water is still lost through transpiration. Additional layers of mulch during the winter will help to hold the moisture in the soil. Time should be given to plants with damage to limbs due to snow or ice because often times the plant will heal itself. It is important to care for these plants during the long winter months. Also discusses repair of storm-damaged plants, and gives a six-step plant protection plan. |
