Abstract/Contents: | Various mixtures for the carrying layer of turf, each using different constructional and supplementary material were screened under wear and tear conditions in an experiment begun in 1976. The differentiations existing between hygromull and peat in their water retaining power and the development of turfgrass roots, already discernable after the first year, proved to remain valid after the experiment had been carried out for a period of eight years. It follows that peat cannot be totally replaced by hygromull. Agrosil demonstrated no significantly noticeable effect after eight years of application. |
