| Abstract/Contents: | "A study tour of the German Turf Association to England and Wales offered to the participants an insight into the problems of wear, soil construction and renovation of several sports field[s] with very different forms of use. For instance, the soil conditions on cricket fields differ from those of soccer and rugby fields considerably. The gradual construction of a meager vegetation layer in conbination with a vertical drainage system enables the renovation of existing sports fields without the necessity of a complete rebuilding. In this case a permeability for water of 25 mm/h 'in the field' is regarded as sufficient." |
