| Abstract/Contents: | Outlines the process of the topographical tetrazolium test. This procedure allows for accurate determination of the viability of grass seed in a maximum of 2 days, as oppossed to the 14-28 days required by other methods of testing. A tetrazolium salt or a 2,3,5-Triphenyltetrazoliumchloride is rendered into a water soluble form, and upon being absorbed by the grass seed cells, reacts with the cells enzymes and dyes the cell red if it is alive.
